Security community:
Polities integrating into a political form to gain security by transforming and strengthening interdependencies.
Security communities are rare. The EU is the current example of this anomaly, where polities have subjected to a treaty, that aims at transposing the borders between them to borders around them. A security community is not an alliance, but an integration of political and economic interests by means of transposition of borders. How to establish, sustain and maintain the external borders of the community is a huge concern for the political form, where burden sharing and challenges concerning immigration can come to dis-intensify political unity, like when the EU had to see U.K. leaving the security community (2020), creating new borders U.K.’s regional context in particular and towards the EU in general. The political form of security community is treaty based and dependent on consensus between members for implementing policies.
